A NAME OF CHANGE
Bellingham's gay community resource center began in 2009 as Village Vida Centre. We had added a new trade name (DBA -Doing Business as): "Gay Inside Out." You'll see both names scattered throughout this site.
THE MISSION
is to create a thriving "LGBT" community center that improves the lives of people of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities/expressions.
We welcome all "gay" people, regardless of race, age, ethnic background, nationality, spirituality or ability.
THE VISION
is that all gay, lesbian, transgender, gender variant, bisexual or questioning people and their allies ":LGBTQA ... " residing, working or visiting in Whatcom County ...
have available to them a safe, secure, supportive and visible community resource center ...
providing educational, recreational and social networking opportunities ...
and programs to promote growth, to improve the quality of life and to improve our ability to contribute openly to the local economy.
... to level the playing field.
The community space will be the center for events, services, resources, allied organizations and community leaders and activists.
